We regularly work on projects for external partners, such as Rotterdam Festivals, Stichting World Police & Fire Games and Golazo Sports. We also get a lot of energy by organising our own events, such as Rotterdam Unlimited Zomercarnaval, IJsvrij, Fabeltjesland and Popfestival ODE.
Blue Light United Event
Blue Light United Event is the legacy of the World Police & Fire Games, which was organized in Rotterdam in 2022.
At Blue Light United Event, over 10 sports will be organized especially for Dutch aid workers. There is also plenty to do at the BLUE Village. Here, among other things, you can visit an information market, where all participating services will be present, you can participate in clinics, workshops and enjoy cool performances.

Rotterdam Unlimited Summer Carnival
Rotterdam Unlimited Summer Carnival is the largest free street party in the Netherlands. Bureau Vermaeck has been organizing this iconic event since 2023. Parades, battles, the largest Rueda de Casino in the Netherlands, live shows, sound systems: For 5 days it's party time in Rotterdam!

Latin Weekender
Latin Weekender is the Latin party of the Netherlands, organized at Center Parcs Limburgse Peel. Three days of the best Salsa, Kizomba, Bachata and Caribbean parties, dance shows, workshops and bootcamps, a pool party, delicious food and much more. The ultimate weekend away for groups of friends and Latin Lovers.
World Police & Fire Games 2022
Bureau Vermaeck was responsible for the total organization of the World Police & Fire Games, from the opening ceremony in the Kuip, to the athletes' village on Willemsplein, the 63 sports spread throughout the country and the closing ceremony on Coolsingel. The World Police & Fire Games are the international games for police officers, firefighters, customs and corrections personnel. From July 22 to July 31, 2022, we welcomed more than 5,500 athletes and 25,000 visitors from 70 countries to Rotterdam. The event had an economic spin off of €9.4 million for Rotterdam. Participants rated the event an average of 8.2.
IJsvrij
IJsvrij is a romantic ice rink with winter terrace on Plein 1940, in the centre of Rotterdam. The festival brings families, friends and colleagues together to enjoy a winter scene with fun activities. IJsvrij is the first project launched independently by Bureau Vermaeck in 2017 and is an annual success.
NN Marathon Rotterdam
On behalf of Golazo Sports, Bureau Vermaeck supported #demooiste, the NN Marathon Rotterdam in 2021 and 2022. For this, Bureau Vermaeck assisted in production, customer care and in marketing communications. During both editions that Bureau Vermaeck supported at, stunning course, European, and national records were broken to the loud cheers of the tens of thousands of spectators who line the entire length of the course every year and, of course, at the iconic Coolsingel finish line.
Roparun 2022
In 2022, Bureau Vermaeck was commissioned by the Roparun Foundation to handle the finish of the Roparun on Coolsingel. The Roparun is a relay race of more than 500 kilometers. Originally from Paris, Bremen and Almelo to Rotterdam, but this time from Enschede to Rotterdam, where people work in teams to perform a sporting feat in order to raise money for people with cancer. Also called an adventure for life.
KLM Urban Trail Rotterdam
On behalf of Golazo Sports, Bureau Vermaeck organized the KLM Urban Trail Rotterdam. This "fun run" offers a unique running experience through the city. An extraordinary exploration where sportsmanship, culture and architecture come together.
The KLM Urban Trail Series is a popular concept in which Dutch cities are discovered via an adventurous- and urban-exploration run through buildings, theaters, stadiums and alleys, among others. In short, places you (almost) never visit.
Eurovision 2021
Commissioned by Rotterdam Festivals, Bureau Vermaeck organized the city program in the south of Rotterdam of the Eurovision Song Contest in May 2021. For this purpose, Bureau Vermaeck has developed the To be Told Series. In 10 episodes, well-known and lesser-known Rotterdam natives tell their stories, opening up the heart of the city; in words, performance, theatre or music. Recorded at Theater Zuidplein and presented by Evita de Roode and MC JR. The To be Told Series was broadcast on City Program channels.
Dutch Ultimate Fire Fighter
During the World Port Days in Rotterdam, the Ultimate Fire Fighter competition has been organized between 2017 and 2019. Participants compete on a course for the title of the ultimate firefighter/woman of the Netherlands. Not only firefighters enter the arena. People working in the Police, Corrections or Customs may also participate in the competition. Bureau Vermaeck organized this competition together with the Rotterdam-Rijnmond Safety Region.
Fabeltjesland
On Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, the Fabeltjesland exhibition opened at LP2 on Wilhelminapier. A tribute to the best-watched Dutch children's program ever: the Fabeltjeskrant. Features included an honorary gallery of 41 original puppets, the 1986 house, the original film set and a workshop of Ed and William Beaver. Fabeltjesland was a co-production of Bureau Vermaeck and Theo Braams Projects.
Kid Dynamite Jazz Festival
Kid Dynamite Jazz Festival was an annual, free family festival in Rotterdam. The festival is an ode to the history of jazz in the Katendrecht neighborhood and introduces children to jazz and all the musical styles that have evolved from it. Full of funky performances, interactive workshops and delicious food. Bureau Vermaeck is organizing the festival on behalf of the Kid Dynamite Jazz Foundation. Digital editions took place in 2020 and 2021 because of the coronavirus. After this, it was no longer organized.
Opening Phoenix 1
November 2019 saw the opening of the brand new Fenix 1 on Katendrecht. On behalf of Heijmans, Bureau Vermaeck took care of the technical production of this opening, which included a spectacular show by Codarts, Circus Rotjeknor and Conny Janssen Danst.
Pop festival ODE
Pop festival ODE, a journey through 50 years of pop music, is an initiative of Bureau Vermaeck. At this festival, the best tribute bands from Europe will play the very greatest world hits, spread across three stages in Rotterdam Ahoy. A reimagining of 50 years of pop culture. Popfestival ODE was due to take place on 21 March 2020. Unfortunately, Popfestival ODE was cancelled 10 days before it was due to the corona virus.
World Championship of Chinese Cuisine
The World Championship of Chinese Cuisine, also known as the Olympics of Chinese Cuisine, is the most important Chinese-cooking competition worldwide. In September 2016, the 8th edition took place in Rotterdam Ahoy, during Gastvrij Rotterdam. Bureau Vermaeck provided project management for the local organization and was responsible, among other things, for all logistical and production matters in and around Rotterdam Ahoy.
Honoring athletes World Police & Fire Games Chengdu
All emergency workers who participated on behalf of the Netherlands in the 2019 World Police & Fire Games in Chengdu, China, were honored at the city hall in Rotterdam by Mayor Aboutaleb. The Netherlands won as many as 17 golds, 15 silver and 16 bronze. Bureau Vermaeck organized this tribute, which was also attended by a lot of press.
